On February 25, 2022, Bald Head Island Transportation, Inc. (BHIT) issued an official notice regarding changes in checked baggage policies as mandated by the North Carolina Utilities Commission (NCUC). These changes will take effect on April 1, 2022, in compliance with the NCUC order. Rest assured, BHIT will proactively communicate any modifications to the passenger process well in advance of the new policies being strictly enforced. As we move forward into the 2022-2023 timeframe, BHIT is committed to implementing various process improvements aimed at enhancing service delivery, increasing reliability, and enhancing the overall customer experience. Initially, our focus will be on internal processes before expanding to include improvements in baggage and passenger delivery operations, tram reservation integration, and electronic ticketing. BHIT will provide timely notifications of all process changes that may affect travelers.
